This special event is only possible once a year and not done before by Outdoorlads, as we take a walk across Salisbury Plain to the 'lost village of Imber'. Hidden away, the village is no longer inhabited as the residents were evicted just before Christmas in 1943 to allow army training in advance of D-Day. Salisbury plain and the village itself remain in use for army training purposes but the connecting roads over the Plain are open to the public on limited occasions each year. On this particular day there's also a fleet of vintage Routemaster buses providing scenic rides; very out of place from their original city roads. SEE: https://imberbus.wordpress.com/imberbus-2017/

Please bring a packed lunch with you and plenty of water. If you forget there's a Waitrose 5 minutes walk from the station, but try to avoid keeping 20 eager walkers waiting while you choose from their tempting selection ;-)
