Nutbrook Trail and Shipley Country Park - day walk
10 people attending
10 places left
Following restoration of the old coal mines and opencast quarries, former railways have been transformed into leafy pathways, old reservoirs are now tranquil lakes teeming with wildlife and reclaimed spoil heaps are now woodlands, rolling hills and wildflower meadows. Derbyshire County Council opened the area as a country park in 1976.
Why not make an East Midlands weekend of it, and do our Bradgate Park walk the day before as well? The event page is here: http://outdoorlads.com/event/bradgate-park-and-beacon-hill-day-walk-1

Food & drink
There are plenty of places to sit and eat packed lunch; however, if you don't want to carry the extra weight there will be an opertunity to stop at the Ramblers Coffee Shop. This privately run coffee shop within the Visitor Centre provides a range of hot and cold food and drinks. Tel: 01773 530309.
You should still bring plenty of fluids for the walk itself.
