The Irwell Sculpture Trail is a 33-mile long arts trail starting in Salford Quays, following the River Irwell through Bury up to Bacup in Rossendale, Lancashire.
In this, the fifth installment of this series of walks, we will be completing a 10.5 mile circular walk starting and ending in the centre of Rawtenstall.
What to bring
This walk is largely along well maintained paths, however there are some muddy areas, so a good pair of waterproof walking boots and a set of waterproofs are recommended.
Food & drink
You will need a packed lunch and at least 2 litres of water for this walk. Please try to have everything you need with you before we set off, there are some shops near the start point, including a large Tesco. There will be an optional pub stop at the end of the walk.
