Join ODL South East on a early spring walk exploring the picturesque Essex villages of Kelvedon and Coggeshall.

Starting our walk in Kelvedon, this walk will head out into the Essex countryside, following the River Blackwater up to the small market town of Coggeshall, home to a number of antiques shops and some beautiful old buildings.

Along the way we will pass a soft fruit farm, two water mills, an abbey, an ancient building known as the Monk's House, a magnificent huge barn and Tudor house both owned and run by the National Trust and some superb scenery.

This walk will include a pub stop in a historic 15th-century inn located in Coggeshall.

Beginning and ending at the railway station your options for getting there are various, but travelling by train is best. If travelling by car, parking is available at the station at £2.70 for the day.

We will meet in the car park by the footbridge that crosses the line between platforms.

Distance: 12.5 Km (7.7 miles).
