Join Ian and see a nocturnal side of the Forest of Dean!
There will be an optional pub dinner at The Fountain in Parkend starting at 7pm. If you would like to join us for this, please leave a comment below.
Once we've assembled and arrived in Parkend, we will drive in convoy to Cannop Ponds and venture into the forest. As dusk gives way to night time (sunset can expected around for 9:20pm), you'll be able to see the forest's nocturnal side come alive under the light of a nearly full moon.
Our adventure will culminate at the New Fancy View, which gives views across the forest and will offer a spectacular glimpse of the night sky.

What to bring
You will need a headtorch with adequate battery life.
Weather dependent you may need a waterproof jacket, walking boots/ shoes will be necessary as parts of the walk may be muddy, you should also wear extra layers as the temperature could drop considerably after sunset.
Food & drink
There is an optional pub dinner at The Fountain in Parkend before the walk.
Please bring along whatever snacks you would like for the duration of the walk and sufficient water to meet your needs.
