East London Evening Cycle

Due to unforseen circumstances, this event will now be on Wednesday 19th July.
As the evenings get lighter, why not join me for a gentle circular ride around east London where you can explore the canal paths, historic sights and new additions to the skyline with friends old and new.
Hopefully this will appeal to both new and keen cyclists and should be suitable for most types of bike. It should even be possible to use a TfL Cycle Hire bike if you don't have your own although I'd suggest it is best with a hybrid especially given one section of the route before the O2 which is very uneven and with loose gravel that may also not suit road bikes with particularly thin tyres.
Anyone who's been cycling with me before knows that I'm not a great fan of hills and this route is in the main pretty flat and easy going.
Hopefully with a combination of the route and the timing we'll miss most of the traffic so you'll just need some experience of riding on roads and of the highway code.
What to bring
Although the sun won't be setting until the end of the ride, please ensure you have working front and back lights to help you be seen by both cars and pedestrians.
Please also check the weather forecast prior to setting out and dress appropriately.
Food & drink
Please ensure you have a some water and perhaps a few sugary snacks - we'll stop for a short while at the Cutty Sark and along the route but there isn't a plan to have a full break.
