Camping and lowland walking

After an incredibly successful event last year, we are returning to a wonderful site, this time for 3 nights, with a bit more on offer!  Low country walks, mountain biking, live music and a birthday celebration are on the cards so join us again at this 2020 CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year!  This 200 year old gem of a pub is located just outside the village and is easily accessible

Here are a few links to the mountain biking in the area:

And a few walking options:

Or maybe even a ParkRun:

We will firm up the specific offerings as the event gets closer but some other ideas are a trip to Warminster Lake Pleasure Centre, a cultural trip into Bath or mini-golf at one of the many courses in the area!

Saturday evening The Groove Jacks will bring their style of blues and soul to the pub!  So bring your dancing shoes as well as hiking boots!!!!

The village of Faulkner does not have direct rail or bus service; the journey requires a train to Bath Spa and then 2 separate busses!  There is ample parking at the site but car sharing is encouraged and here is a carpool page!  I have also set up this Telegram chat!

The pitches are located just metres from the pub, along the banks of Norton Brook and there will be plenty of room for us to camp together, small campervans and "pop-up" trailers are allowed.  There are full shower facilities a short stroll from the pitches.

The campsite and shower facilities are fully accessible but please note that as the pub is a Grade I listed building, access may be difficult.  Some of the outdoor activities may not be suitable if attendees have accessibility requirements; please confidentially email me to discuss options.

Some of the site rules are:

  • Dogs are allowed at a cost of £2.50 per night, payable directly to the site on arrival
  • Quiet hours are between 23.00 and 07.00
  • Campfires and barbecues are allowed, but must be raised off the ground
  • Tents must be a minimum of 3 metres apart
  • Cars can be parked at the pitches

If this is your first event, don't be put off if you lack some of the necessary equipment; just message me on chris.keivit@outdoorlads.com or james.couldry@outdoorlads.com and we will see what can be worked out!
