This is Day Two of a walking weekend (see further information further down)
Join Dan on a short ferry ride across Windermere followed by a 7 mile walk that takes in Claife Heights, Far Sawrey and with stunning views across Bowness on Windermere.
Please note that the first 2-3 miles of this walk involves some moderately challenging climbs and the terrain is a little rocky in parts too.
As mentioned above, this is part of a walking weekend in the Lakes whereby myself and others are organising walks and you can choose to independently organise your own accommodation and food etc.
Some of us will be staying on the Saturday evening at the YHA in Windermere - you may want to stay there - the link is as follows: http://www.yha.org.uk/hostel/windermere
We will be heading into Bowness for food and drinks on the Saturday evening, prior to this walk and you are more than welcome to join us.
Walks for Day 1 of this weekend (Saturday 14th October) are already live. There is a shorter walk hosted by Andrew Renshaw and a longer, slightly more challenging walk led by Stephen Turner, please do sign up for either of these (not both) if you're planning on making a weekend of it.
What to bring
Good, sturdy waterproof boots are essential for this walk, due to the terrain at the start of the walk.
The usual waterproofs are also advised, as are gaiters as parts of the walk are likely to be a bit muddy, particularly if we've had some rainfall in the days leading up to the walk itself.
Food & drink
Whilst there is a cafe at the start/end of the route for you to purchase any additional supplies, you'll need a packed lunch and 2 litres of water as standard for a day walk, as there aren't any shops on our route.
