Sherwood and Rufford Park - day walk

14 places left
We’ll be taking a fairly leisurely walk from Sherwood Pines in the heart of Sherwood Forest to Rufford Abbey. In the afternoon we’ll take in Edwinstowe and Kings Clipstone, where there’ll be opportunity to stop for a pint if we feel like one. The walk will conclude where it started at the Sherwood Pines Visitor Centre.
If you're feeling extra energetic and don't mind getting out of bed early on the weekend why not book on and join me at 9am for a bike ride round Sherwood Pines, same place just earlier.

What to bring
I recommend wearing walking boots on this walk, although all this walk can be achieved in a pair of trainers it is November and conditions could be muddy in places. That in mind, waterproofs will be needed and even a few layers to keep warm.
Food & drink
We're not completely in the wilderness on this one, so if you do decide to leave your lunchbox at home there are places where you can pick up supplies. This walk is on the longer end of easy though, and will take at least 4 hrs to complete (probably 5hrs with stops), so I would at least bring along a few snacks to keep you going and enough fluids to drink.
There are shops and cafes at Rufford Park and a couple of pubs on route; we will have at least one extended stop somewhere. Of course for those of us who love our sandwitch box we'll find somewhere scenic to enjoy the content.
