It is an ideal campsite to explore the countryside, on foot, bike on road, or off road. With The Long Mynd, the home of the Midland Gliding Club, Wild Edric’s Way and Offas Dyke.
The Shropshire/Wales boarder is a rich historical landscape with a wealth of castles and museums. Just over the Mynd, is Acton Scott the historic working farm where Victorian Farm was filmed. Going north along the Wenlock Edge we come to the town of IronBridge, so called because of it’s great influence on modern industry today with its Iron gorge museums and first iron bridge! IronBridge also houses Blists Hill a Victorian town.
Clun is a 10-minute drive from the campsite, or a beautiful walk through farm and woodland. Clun and its surrounding villages are famous in the work of A E Houseman. In the motte of the ruins of Clun Castle the annual Green- man Festival is held on the first bank holiday in May, as well as the Clun Valley Beer Festival in October.
