The Pennines stretch from the Peak District all the way to Cheviot Hills separating Yorkshire and the North East of England.  The Eden Valley holds part of the Settle to Carlisle Railway, running for 73 miles through some of the most beautiful scenery; the Pennines on one side and the tail end of the Howgills on the other.

We will be looking to explore some of the many stunning peaks in the range including Cross Fell at an elevation of 893m with its dominating western flank visible from most of north Cumbria.  The awesome feature that is High Cup is brutally a hole in the moorland formed over time most likely by the river winding through the middle of the formation.  High Cup is a major feature visible from the A66 main road through from Newcastle to Penrith.

The hostel, located in the pretty hamlet of Dufton only a short drive from Appleby-in-Westmorland with easy access to the local mountains meaning little drving and maximum awesome walking potential.
