Join us for a walk up two fine Munros on the south-eastern edge of the Cairngorms National Park.

The last time we climbed Driesh and Mayar in June 2014, we tackled them by the usual route following the Kilbo path from Glen Clova and returning via Corrie Fee and Glendoll Forest. This event will follow a completely different and lesser trodden route, approaching them from Glen Prosen.

Our walk will follow an anticlockwise circular route ascending by the Shank of Driesh to reach our first summit before continuing west along a broad and easy ridge towards Mayar. For our descent back into Glen Prosen we can either retrace our steps to the col between the two hills and descend by the Kilbo path or continue slightly further south-west onto South Craig and descend via White Glen.

Itinerary

This is a day walk, and you are welcome to just come along for the day. Alternatively, why not make a weekend of it and join us on the Saturday too for Three Munros in One Day in the Glenshee area?
