Worsley Woods & Canal Daywalk

Worsley attracts many visitors but this 30 hectare woodland comes as a real surprise, given its proximity to the busy motorway network. Declared a local nature reserve in 2006, the Site of Biological Importance is home to a huge array of wildlife and wildflowers. There are many paths, some leading right into the woods and others linking to the Tyldesley Loop line.
We'll head from the meeting point in Monton along the disused railway line, which is now part of the Tyldesley Loop Line. Walking around Worsley Woods until we come to Worsley Lake, we'll then head into picturesque Worsley itself and pick up the Bridgewater canal before returning back to Monton for a well earned drink.
This short 5-mile walk will take in the best sights of Worsley and will be finished around mid-afternoon. You'll then be free to do your own thing or join us for a drink.
