Join Phil on this 13 mile walk starting in the village of Whalley in the Ribble Valley in Lancashire. The walk follows the River Calder and heads over the hills and across the fields taking in the sights listed below.

Whalley Abbey - 14th century Cistercian Abbey by the side of the River Calder.

Read Hall - A Victorian Manor House situated in the grounds of Read Park.

Civil War Battlefields - the fields behind the village of Read were some of the battlefields of the civil war in April 1643.

Sabden - the village in the heart of Pendle Witch country.

Climb to the Nick of Pendle to see the whole of the Ribble Valley in front of you.

Head through the small idyllic village of Wiswell before arriving back in Whalley.

For anyone who wants a well deserved drink after the walk we will be heading to The Swan Hotel in the centre of Whalley.
