Join Richard on this relatively short walk, albeit with some quite good hills to climb, with the rewards to be enjoyed with views over Bewdley and the mighty River Severn.
Bewdley has a real charm about it; it’s unlike any other place - the powerful River Severn running through really adds to Bewdley's character. It is not without its testing times, with flooding in past years, but the town always bounces back from this and is rewarded with a good flow of tourist trade and from the heritage railway of Severn Valley.
The Wyre Forest is one of the oldest and has an impressive 10.17 square mile area coverage, is host to many animals and wildlife, some of which you will no doubt come across on the walk.
We have plenty of interest as well as stunning scenery and views: we will pass the historic Dowles Manor & Knowles Mill along the walk.
What to bring
A good pair of walking boots/shoes will be required despite it being Summer there are some hill's to climb so walking poles are good (if you find them helpful).
Food & drink
We will be having a lunch stop on the walk in a picturesque location, with scenic views to enjoy (hopefully in fine weather). A packed lunch will be required so please do bring one with you on the walk before we set off. If you don't bring one from home, you will find a selection of shops, supermarket to stock up if required in Bewdley.
Do ensure that you have plenty of liquids with you for the walk as there isn’t anywhere where you will be able to purchase or top-up on the walk. Also a few energy snacks will also give you a boost when you need it for the hill climbs (which your be pleased to know are at the start of the walk) for the most part.
