Join Steven and the OutdoorLads for an easy evening wander along the riverbank visiting the pretty Georgian town of Yarm on the south bank of the Tees in the historic county of North Yorkshire.
The route takes in part of the Teesdale Way and wanders uphill to the village of Egglescliffe on the historic County Durham side.
This walk will be done at a slower relaxed place with several stops along the way, a few points of historic note will be highlighted by the walk leader who lives locally and is very familiar with this part of the Tees Valley.
The gradients are easy and this is an ideal walk as an introduction to the group. There are good wide reaching views across the river and to a greater distant prospect over to the south towards the Cleveland Hills and further to the east to the Eston Hills above Middlesbrough.
So please come along to a shorter walk in pleasant surroundings along the River Tees a great way to spend an evening in late summer.
We are likely to gather in one of the many public houses in the area for drinks after, if the weather is fine there are pub gardens with heaters.
