Tees Valley River Wander: A Farewell to 2024
10 people attending
10 places left
Join Steven on a easier, quieter linear walk in the lower reaches of the River Tees in rural County Durham.
The route explores the field paths, bridleways and quiet lanes of this scenic area following the Teesdale Way.
The paths offer many interesting far reaching views over the Tees plain to the Cleveland Hills in the south, and wind through peaceful woodland and scrub land for a lot of the riverside section.
This is a walk where you will pass few people and is very peaceful with just the occasional airplane flying overhead, the runway of Teesside Airport is not too far away to the north.
There is an abundance of bird life on this walk great for the enthusiastic birders among our group. This is an easier mid distance walk being a little over 9.5 miles the terrain is largely flat with only a couple of small rises spread out throughout the walk.
So come along, burn off that Christmas energy and enjoy a full day out in good company to round off 2024.
