6 people attending
19 places left
Enjoy this circular walk through the glorious Hertfordshire countryside, starting in the pretty village of Wheathampstead, following in the footsteps of the playwright George Bernard Shaw and stopping off at his home of 44 years, Shaw's Corner.
As we stroll through the picturesque Herfordshire countryside you'll see the old Station Platform, and Lamer Park, home of Shaws' great friend Apsley Cherry-Garrard.
On the home stretch of the walk we'll follow the banks or of the river lee for a mile or two and take in the sights and sounds of the river.
Pub stops will feature mid-way and at the end of the walk.

Water: bring at least two litres
Medicines: if you have hay fever, diabetes, minor ailments etc.
Day rucksack: typically 20-25 litres, they are comfortable to wear and allow you to use your arms freely
Boots: waterproof and breathable and designed for hiking, trainers are OK if the ground is dry and there’s little chance of rain
Socks: proper walking socks will keep your feet dry and help prevent blisters
