A very scenic 11 mile circular walk amongst the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - one of England's finest landscapes with much that is ancient and surprising to be enjoyed!
We start at Gomshall before crossing fileds to the village of Shere, a gorgeous place that was the set location for the 2006 film "The Holiday" with Jude law and Cameron Diaz.
After taking in the 15th and 16th century timber framed buildings and church where the anchoress Christine Carpenter was enclosed in a cell in the 14th century, we have a relatively strenuous uphill climb which will be rewarded once we reach the famous beauty spot of Newlands Corner.
There should be time for a coffee stop at the Newlands Corner cafe before we continue on to Sherbourne Pond and the nearby Silent Pool which have been popular places with tourists since the Victorian era. We finish back in Gomshall and a pub stop for those who wish to stay for a drink.

Food & drink
Please bring a picnic lunch. Refreshments should be available at the Newlands Corner cafe but there is no guarantee this will be open so please bring something just in case!
