Join Johnny and OutdoorLads for a 14.3km walk following the Rossendale Way up on the moorland above Rossendale and Haslingden taking in Hog Lowe Pike (382m) and the flat-top Tor Hill (340m).
From our start point, we’ll head north and pick up the Rossendale Way skirting the base of Oswaldtwislte Moor, before heading south, crossing the Grane Road and heading up to Edgerton Moss before reaching the highest point on today’s walk, Hog Lowe Pike which offers commanding views over towards Darwen Moor, Jubilee Tower and Winter Hill.
We’ll then head south east to Causeway Height, before heading down and picking up the Rossendale Way again and following around the secluded Musbury Valley. We’ll then begin our short ascent up on to the iconic flat-top Tor Hill, which offers fantastic views over Haslingden.
From here, we’ll then descend back into the end of Musbury Valley, before a short steep ascent to skirt the side of Musbury Heights and Ogden Reservoir before heading over Calf Hey dam and back to the car park where we start for a well earned coffee and cake.
