Want to burn off your celebratory dinner and drinks before you've even had them? If so why not join us for the Quakers Walk (Devizes) parkrun?
The course is 5000m (5k) long. This has been accurately measured by parkrun with a professional measuring wheel. It's run on paths, although some sections of the course do accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.
The important bit... This is about personal goals. You run/walk at your own pace, don't be scared that you may be slower than other people. Some walk, some run, some jog, some do a combination of all three.
To take part in a parkrun and get your official time, you will need to have registered to receive your all important barcode. You will need to bring this barcode with you either printed or on your phone. Parkrun events are run nationwide and indeed internationally, so once you're signed up you can attend anywhere. If you don't have a barcode you can still run but won't get a time.
The official start of the run is 9am. We will meet at 8:20 ready to leave at 8:30 from Big South Christmas to walk to the start (takes about 15 minutes) in time for the first timers' briefing. Alternatively check out the Course page at the link below and meet us at the start.

The leader will also be leading a walk timed to be able to fit it in after parkrun with time for a quick shower - this is here:

Dogs
parkrun allow one dog per person on a short lead (not extending). I don't know at the time of writing if dogs are permitted in the hostel grounds (they definitely aren't inside other than assistance dogs) so if you do intend to bring a dog to run with you please meet us at the parkrun start rather than the hostel.
OutdoorLads Running Groups
If you want to join the Outdoorlads' national group on the parkrun website, on your parkrun account select Profile, then groups and type "Outdoorlads (UK)" and click the Join button.
