New Year's Eve Warm Up Walk

This walk is a nice warm up ready for New Year's Eve. Not too difficult and on the flat enabling you to save your energy for any parties you might be heading to on NYE.
An easy walk with very few climbs. We can enjoy sharing our New Year's Eve plans while walking along the disused railway between Chard and Illminster.
A Grade II-listed building in Ilminster is the focal point in a town centre dotted with sandstone buildings.
The return route will include a small climb up Herne Hill and a variety of farmland. See if you can spot the Chard Canal.
Walk highlights:
- Chard reservoir
- A disused railway line
- Grade ll-listed Market House
- Remains of Chard canal
- World War ll Anti-Tank emplacement
