Introducing the Mid-Week Afternoon Hike (MWAH!) event!

Join Dan and OutdoorLads as they shake off the blues between weekend events and stretch those legs again on a Wednesday afternoon.

Starting just outside the village of Bersham we follow alongside Afon/River Clywedog, heading upstream as it peacefully flows towards Wrecsam/Wrexham while we journey through lush woodland and passing signs of old industry that made good use of the water flowing by.

Steadily climbing along the side of Mynydd Mwynglawdd/Minera Mountain we will pass through the former Minera Lead Mines, and get a good view of the old quarry that is now a nature reserve, before turning back towards town, passing above the small village of New Brighton.

Weaving our way downhill again via farm tracks, crossing fields and the occasional country lane, we will drop back down to the path through Plas Power Woods, retracing the start of our route to the cars (and maybe a cheeky pint at the Black Lion Inn).

This walk is roughly 13 km/8 miles, on well trodden muddy/rocky footpaths. Given the late finish of this event and proximity to sunset you must pack a headtorch for safety!

Well-behaved OutdoorDogs are very welcome but please ensure they are adequately prepared for all conditions just as much as you are. Note: Leads will be required in areas with livestock, and we will be crossing stiles frequently.
