The ride starts following tracks along the Goyt Valley passing Roman Lakes to get us warmed up before a stiff and technical climb up on the pasture lands above New Mills with fine views over to Kinder Scout. After a short section of road we descend a zig zag of bridleways to to Rowarth before the final big climb takes us over Cown Edge with its fine views over Greater Manchester and the Cheshire Plain. From here the route is mainly downhill back to the Goyt Valley.

The route does have some technical aspects (blue to red graded) and riders will require good fitness as some hills are quite steep and we will encounter muddy tracks.

For this ride you will need a good hard tail or full suspension mountain bike.

NOTE: Ride may to postponed if severe weather is forecast
