The market town of Monmouth is located in the Wye Valley at the mouth of the River Monnow.  The morning follows the River Wye from Monmouth to Redbrook where we'll stop at the Boat Inn for lunch (Don't forget to bring your wallet as I don't plan on buying your lunch for you).   To help you digest your lunch there is then quite a long climb from the Wye up to the Offa's Dyke path which we'll follow to Kymin where not only can you expect a Naval memorial and an 18th century banqueting house (unfortunately currently closed) but also spectacular views in all directions including as far as the Brecon Beacons and the Malverns if the weather is clear.

Dogs will be welcome on the walk but will need to be kept under control (and you would need to sit outside for lunch even if it rains!)
