From Moel Arthur to Penycloddiau and back to the top

We start by Moel Arthur, but skirt around its base until we see Penycloddiau coming into view - our first peak. Once we get to the top, we'll walk atop the ancient ramparts of the hillfort and take advantage of the "open access land" to wend our way back in the direction of Moel Arthur. We then have a couple of short, sharp inclines to the top, with an optional steep descent to finish.
On a good day, we'll get views of Snowdonia to the West and Liverpool and the Wirral to the East. Moel Famau and its Jubilee Tower are to the South.
It’s around 8km in total, taking 3 hours or so + lunch stop, with an elevation gain of 470 metres
There is a barbed wire fence that we need to cross. This is fine for for humans, but may be challenging for dogs!
Please aim to be ready to start walking at 10:45

As ever in Britain, probably sensible to bring waterproofs and sun cream! - but do check the weather forecast.
It will be windier and colder at the top, so bring warm clothes.
Walking boots strongly advised.
