The route takes us along Peak Forest Canal towpath to Lyme Park,  a 1,400 acre estate that once belonged to the Legh family and is now managed by the National Trust.

As we cycle through the park, look out for the red deer that roam the estate as well as the elegant Regency house.

After leaving the Park, we follow a mixture of paved roads and bridleways as we climb to the summit of the Brickworks, well known climb to the road cyclists of the area, before following the Gritstone Trial passing Sponds Hills with fine views over the Cheshire Plain.

We then loss all height gained to cross back to the Goyt Valley and follow a selection of bridleways around the Mellor Hills as we return to Marple

Whilst the whole route is rideable with nothing too technical, riders will require good fitness as some hills are quite steep.

For this ride you will need a good hard tail or full suspension mountain bike.
