Ludlow Food, Heritage and Snowdrops

A leisurely stroll along paths and lanes from historic Ludlow. We pass Ludlow horse racing course to explore the delights of the churchyard of Stanton Lacy, a wonderful carpet of snowdrops at this time of year. Childhood visits here inspired my desires for the flower fairies.

From here, we go to the Ludlow food centre for lunchtime. There is a café, farm shop, pub and gin distillery, as well as outdoor picnic area if you wish to bring your own lunch. This is part of the Oakley Farm estate and a well spoken of centre for connoisseurs.

We return to Ludlow by the medieval bridge across the river and through the historic streets, passing the castle. Those who wish can visit a pub of teashop here before completing the walk.

I have requisitioned this route and amended it to follow lanes and paths, avoiding floods! Still, come prepared in case of patches of mud as it’s been so wet lately.
