Liverpool Queer History Walk

Join OutdoorLads for a whistlestop tour of Liverpool City Centre taking in the various historic sites and statues which documents the Queer History of Liverpool and how it changed the national conversation around sexuality and gender.
This walk has been researched and plotted for the purpose of Outdoorlads as part of Queer History Month.
Along the way you will hear the stories of such Icons as Paul O'Grady, Pete Burns, Brian Epstein, Super Lambanana, Cilla Black, Brookside Close and April Ashley.
If you've done this walk before there are updates for 2024
There will also be a chance to learn some popular scouse phrases along the way. Is Right!
The walk is largely flat and acessible, covering around 5 miles of the City Centre.
At the end of the walk there will be the opportunity for a late pub lunch and drinks. Venue TBC
*Although the tone of the walk is mainly humorous , it does involve discussions of hate crime , sex work and historic persecution.
