Leigh-on-Sea to Southend Pier Jolly - A social return-walk

Still need to walk off those mince pies? Then this casual walk is for you! Come join me for a 9.3 miles (15 Km) return walk (there and back) from Leigh-on-Sea to the end of the famous longest pleasure pier in the world in Southend On Sea.
We'll quite literally walk along the prom where we'll pass boats, the famous cockle sheds of Leigh On Sea, following alongside the Thames Estuary where on a clear day you can see across to the other side of Kent. As we reach Southend we'll pass the famous Rossi's ice cream parlour where we'll definitely stop and grab a take away. As we get to the Pier entrance to this is £1 so please make sure you have one in your pocket.
Once we've been to the end of the pier, which can be a little chilly, we'll head back the way we came, back along the seat front, most likely seeing the tidal change that happens. As we get back to Leigh On Sea, before parting ways we can stop for some seafood from the cockle sheds, and a well earned drink from one of the lovely pubs.
Dog owners: Sorry but no dogs are allowed on the Pier.
