JAN25: Towpath and Trail to Lymm and back

An easy walk in South Warrington using the Bridgewater Canal towpath and the Trans Pennine Trail.

We will meet at the Grappenhall Walled Garden and after admiring the flowers, goldfish and bees we will walk down to Grappenhall village along a paved track. We will then walk along the Bridgewater Canal towpath to Lymm. We can stop there and eat our butties, there is a Sainsburys in the village centre if you don't want to bring any food and drink with you or you could visit one of the local pubs. Then we will walk along the Trans Pennine Trail for a short distance before getting on the towpath again and heading back to Grappenhall. We could stop at one of the village pubs for a drink before making our way back to the cars.

Well behaved dogs are welcome.

Don’t worry if there are no places left, put your name on the reserve list and you will get a place if someone drops out.

If you are using public transport the nearest railway stations are Warrington Central and Warrington Bank Quay, I'm sure someone could meet you at the station and give you a lift to the start of the walk.
