GET SOCIAL THIS JANUARY! This event is one of loads of events taking place over the same weekend! Check out all the events over the weekend of 17-19 January 2025: OutdoorLads.events/JAN25. Great for new and regular members!
Join OutdoorLads for a morning run (or walk) at Lloyd Park Parkrun near Croydon.
I regularly do this Parkrun, so I thought I'd see if any ODL members want to join me. It's a bit of an undulating cross country course, that can get muddy if its been wet. There's a small incline about half way.
The course is 5000m (5k) long and is run mainly on grass/mud and permanent paths.
New to Parkrun?
You run/walk at your own pace, don't be scared that you may be slower than other people. Some walk, some run, some jog, some do a combination of all three.
To take part in a Parkrun and get your official time, you will need to have registered to receive your all important barcode. You will need to bring a hardcopy of this barcode with you. Parkrun events are run nationwide and indeed internationally, so once you're signed up you can attend anywhere and if this becomes popular we may even try other Parkruns in the area.
The official start of the run is 09:00 and we will meet outside the cafe at 08:35 for a quick catch up and to attend the run briefing.
Afterwards
We'll head to the park cafe for a post run coffee.
The course event page is here.
If you want to join the OutdoorLads' national group on the Parkrun website, on your Parkrun account select Profile, then groups and type "Outdoorlads (UK)" and click the Join button.
You may also wish to sign up to the Strava OutdoorLads running club: https://www.strava.com/clubs/439735
There are many Parkrun events in South London, so if you are interested in joining me on a different date/location, please let me know. I also run at Crystal Palace and would be happy to organise a similar event there.
New Members
New members are very welcome. Please message me if you have any questions or concerns before the day.

What to bring
Wear appropriate running clothing suitable for the weather conditions. It can get muddy, so you may want to wear older running shoes, or those you don't mind getting dirty.
Food & drink
Bring water and any pre or post run snacks you require. We'll go for a coffee at the park café afterwards.
