The Hunterian museum and art gallery
The oldest public museum in Scotland, with collections spanning arts, sciences and humanities, The Hunterian is at the forefront of university museums around the world.
We shall start with a short walk around the University grounds, through the cloisters and into the museum. It's not a guided tour so feel free to wander where you want. There is a small shop and places nearby to have a coffee break.
As well as the museum, the art gallery is a few minutes walk across University Ave. Both museum and art gallery are free, however if you wish to pay £10 you can go to the Mackintosh house right beside the gallery. The Mackintosh House is a careful reassemblage of the main rooms from the Glasgow home of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh.
This is a very flexible event, feel free to join or leave us anytime between 2-5pm, just let me know. Three hours should be more than enough for a short wander, museum, coffee, gallery and/or Mackintosh house (for those choosing this option).
