High Summer North York Moors Camp - 3 nights

Join us for THREE nights camping in the North York Moors! (Starts Thursday.)
Set at the head of a remote and little known North York Moors dale, this is a working farm camping location that is unrivalled for peace and tranquillity. Beyond the end of the tarmac road, along a farm track that ends at the farm, the only through traffic are the moorland birds - curlew, lapwing, grouse, plover and more. Even the sheep like it so much they don't pass through!! The pace of life here is nice and slow, as indicated to visitors on a home-made sign you'll see en route (in the photos for this event!!)
It's a basic campsite but that adds to its charm. Our field is about 200m from the main farm and also the showers / loos. There are picnic benches to while away the evening (and day if you want) in the midst of the hills and wildlife.
Our choice of walks from the site is fantastic. Part of the Cleveland Way is under a mile away from which we would get great views over the Moors and Teesside and County Durham to the north. There are countless less well used paths around us for quiet walks.
The farm also offers fly-fishing - if anyone wants to try their hand, this can be organised direct with the farm.
Our remoteness means that there are no local shops - best to stock up before you arrive. There is a great cafe / farm shop and restaurant at Bridestones which is under 2 miles walk away and perfectly doable in the evening, or as part of a day walk. The nearest pub is just under 3 miles by road. The nearest shops are about 9 miles away.
THIS SITE CANNOT ACCEPT CAMPERVANS OR CARAVANS on the field. This is a tents only event!
DOGS ARE WELCOME!! Please note, this is a working farm surrounded by active moorland which will be preparing for grouse shooting. Dogs must be under control at all times as there will be lambs, their mothers, cattle, hens - you name it - around us. Gamekeepers can be expected to protect their valuable birds!
