The wonderfully named Hetty Pegler's Tump, like the nearby Nympsfield Long Barrow, is a neolithic burial chamber in the Cotswold Hills, near the brewery village of Uley. On this walk, we will visit both sites, along with Coaley Peak with its stunning views over the River Severn and Forest of Dean .
This walk starts and ends at Stonehouse rail station, with direct services from Gloucester, Swindon and London. We follow the canal path east, before climbing up to Selsey Common and joining the Cotswold Way. We follow the Way through a woodland route until reaching Coaley Peak and the pair of Long Barrows, just a mile apart . The walk concludes with a steep descent and a direct path back to the station.
What to bring
Water: bring at least two litres
Medicines: if you have hay fever, diabetes, minor ailments etc.
Day rucksack: typically 20-30 litres, they are comfortable to wear and allow you to use your arms freely

Gaiters: recommended for wet weather or boggy conditions
Socks: proper walking socks will keep your feet dry and help prevent blisters
