Following on from the recent success of the visit to RHS Harlow Carr, this event is the next in our series of Cultural and Heritage activities in this region, which are designed to be as widely accessible as possible. The event is timed to coincide with the Helmsley Hostel Weekend and provides participants an additional opportunity to explore the delights of this moorland market town. It is also a 'stand alone' event and is open to all members.
Helmsley Walled Garden is a little treasure tucked away on the edge of the town and is overlooked by the ruined castle nearby. In early summer there will be plenty of interest in the garden as the amazing herbaceous borders, vegetable gardens and orchard spring into life.
There is an outstanding cafe on the site - The Vine House Cafe - which caters for most dietary requirements.
Entry to the garden is subject to a £10 fee which must be paid at the ticket office on the day. There is no ODL charge for this event - all monies go to Helmsley Walled Garden. This visit is not suitable for dogs.
We will meet at the entrance to the garden at 10.30am (see details below or visit their website for location details).
