Approximately 17km (10.5 miles) with some steep climbs. (400 metres total height gain, maximum elevation 153 metres)

This circular walk is predominantly set within the parish of Congresbury (St.Congar’s village).   Much of the walk is within the ancient woodland of Goblin Combe, as well as the more recently wooded limestone uplands of Cleeve Wood and Kings Wood.   As part of this circular route we will also take in some open countryside as we walk from Wrington alongside the Congresbury Yeo.

Goblin Combe and Kings Wood are both protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and are local nature reserves, and contain many old mine workings, where Lead, Iron, Calamine and Ochre were all once mined.   We will get to pass by some of these mine workings within Kings Wood.
