Hard Scrambling? In Scotland? What's not to like!
Joining us for a fantastic couple of days of hands-on Scottish rock fun in Glencoe. This is an event for those of us that like their scrambles on the challenging side.
Over the two days we will pick two fantastic grade 2 routes, which may include the grade 2 classic - the Aonach Eagach (the highest & longest mainland mountain ridge).
Our route choice will be made on the day and will be weather dependent.
- The routes will be challenging & extremely exposed in places.
- The routes will be undertaken unroped, so you need a confident, proficient, capable scrambler with a solid amount of experience at grade one and have done at least one grade 2. If you haven't got this in the bank DO NOT click into this event.
- The route will include sections with 'un’dodgeable' cruxs (i.e. you cant go around the hard bits).
If you have any doubts about your ability then this event isn't for you. We only want confident scramblers.
You will need a climbing helmet for this event.
Please note that the event may be liable to change or cancellation due to inclement weather.
You will need to source your own accommodation for this event. However, the leaders will be staying at the Red Squirrel Campsite and you would be more than welcome to join.

IMPORTANT! - Participation Statement
You MUST complete a Participation Statement, in addition to booking your event space before attending an OutdoorLads event. You only need to complete this Participation Statement once, not for each event you attend.
Please note that every person participating should be aware of (and accept) that those members perceived as ‘in charge’ or leading the event are not experts, do not need to be experts, and are not regarded by OutdoorLads, or themselves as experts, but are amateurs with some experience in the event type and who are happy to impart their knowledge. Any advice given should be considered with this in mind by the recipient.
By signing up to and attending an OutdoorLads event, you are confirming that you have read, understood and accept the content of this statement.
What to bring
Mountain Kit (waterproofs, personal first aid kit, spare layer, food/water, etc, but please pack lite), plus:
You will need a climbing helmet. Please let Andy know if you need to borrow one.
Also, although this grade of scramble is possible in a walking boot, you will feel more secure with a firm soled scrambling boot (B2) or an approach shoe.
I will conduct a quick kit check before we set off to ensure everyone is suitably equipped.
Food & drink
Bring plenty of high energy food and liquids for a long day on the mountain.
