An Evening with the Sheffield Symphony Orchestra

Join us for a Scottish themed concert at All Saints Church Ecclesall with the Sheffield Symphony Orchestra, featuring our very own Andy Ling on the viola.
Maxwell-Davies’ An Orkney Wedding, with Sunrise is a fun piece of music taking you through the frivolities of a Scottish wedding. Rarely seen paired with a symphony orchestra, a Bagpiper enters part way through the performance.
Symphony No. 3 by Mendelssohn is a four part symphony depicting the wild and romantic landscapes of Scotland. Certainly one to relax to and let your imagination flow with the music.
Commissioned for the 2012 Proms season, Musgrave’s Loch Ness is a postcard from Scotland, allowing the audience to imagine through music the elusive Loch Ness Monster rising from the depths to the surface and back again. Perhaps a piece of musical humour, it is one to enjoy and immerse yourself in.
Tickets will be available online from a few weeks before the concert or can be purchased on the door. If you have signed up for this event, the event leader will let you know when tickets become available. The ticket price is expected to be around £12.
We will go for a drink at a nearby pub after the concert.
