Eryri Climbing & Walking Weekend - CLIMBING
6 people attending
2 places left
We're back in North Wales for another epic weekend of mountaineering in one of our favourite mountain huts!
This event is only open to people booked onto the bunkhouse weekend. Please book your place on the bunkhouse event as well as this climbing event.
The climbing for this weekend is intended to be focused on Multi-Pitch Trad Climbing and we'll choose the crag each morning over breakfast, to suit the group aspirations (and weather forecast!).
It could be a good opportunity for capable single pitch climbers with a bit of experience behind them to try multi-pitch routes.
To attend this event, you will need to have attended a few outdoor climbing events with OutdoorLads already, and will need to be fairly confident in climbing Trad Routes outdoors (seconding only is fine) as well as in tying in with a figure 8 knot, and Lead-Belaying a climbing partner. If you are unsure about the difficulty of the event, or whether you have necessary skills & experience, please message the event leader with your questions.
This event is for both a Saturday and Sunday climb.

And Finally - you may also wish to keep up to date with all outdoorlads outdoor climbing events here, or through our facebook group to be notified about new outdoor climbing events as they go online and to keep in touch with other outdoor climbers in ODL, or follow us on Instagram.
IMPORTANT! - Participation Statement
You MUST complete a Participation Statement, in addition to booking your event space before attending an OutdoorLads event. You only need to complete this Participation Statement once, not for each event you attend.
Please note that every person participating should be aware of (and accept) that those members perceived as ‘in charge’ or leading the event are not experts, do not need to be experts, and are not regarded by OutdoorLads, or themselves as experts, but are amateurs with some experience in the event type and who are happy to impart their knowledge. Any advice given should be considered with this in mind by the recipient.
By signing up to and attending an OutdoorLads event, you are confirming that you have read, understood and accept the content of this statement.
Members should also understand that rock climbing is weather dependant – more so than some other outdoor activities (not least as it can be dangerous to climb on wet rock). Whilst we will do everything reasonably possible to run the event as described, the event leader may need to change the location and/or other event details to best suit the anticipated weather. We will advise members booked on, or interested, in the event of this as soon as is practical, but you should understood that in certain circumstances it may be necessary to move the event to an indoor climbing centre, or cancel the event all together.
Please see our website for more information including an FAQ about our events.
What to bring
Harness, Rock boots, Belay plate and Screw gate karabiner, and a Helmet.
Climbing rack/gear & rope if you have it.
A waterproof, and some warm layers in case the weather is not what we hope for...it is the UK!
If you don't have your own equipment then you may be able to use the OutdoorLads gear if you message the meet leader in advance. Please note there are limited group helmets available, and you wont be able to climb without one; rock boots are also essential for this event- no trainers sorry! Group gear is first come first serve!
Insect repellent is advisable to those susceptable to midges.
Sun screen is advisable, but best applied before leaving the hut so hands can be washed afterwards. Otherwise you will have greasy hands all day which will not help your climbing!
Don't forget to bring packed lunch items for Saturday & Sunday.
Food & drink
A packed lunch, including snacks and drinks will be needed for both days as it will not be possible to leave the crag and visit shops midway through the day.
