Edale Circular

This walk is 12km and will take approximately four hours.
We will be starting our walk from Edale. We will be walking from the car park to the official start of the Pennine Way, once on the way we will be walking towards Upper Booth. This part of the walk will be a gentle amble were we will be able to take in the views of Edale and the surrounding valley.
At Upper Booth we will turn left and follow the path toward Barber Booth, turning in a southernly direction after we pass under the railway. We will then follow the path past manor house farm to meet the Chapel Gate track. This part of the walk will be a steep walk towards Rushup Edge. When we make it to Rushup Edge we can take in some more beautiful views of the Valley. We can probably find a quiet spot to have some refreshments as this part of the walk doesn't usually get as busy as Mam Tor.
When we are ready we will walk along the edge to Mam Tor, then on to Hollins Cross. This part of the walk has well maintained paths and will have amazing views to the South and the North, Castleton to the south, with a view of Winnats Pass and the failed Winnats pass road. And to the North, the Vale of Edale and surrounding areas.
From Hollins Cross we will start out decent and follow the path all the way back to Edale. Where there are a few glorious pubs to taste the fine local and not so local beverages.
Dogs are welcome on this walk. They must be kept on a lead at all times and well trained.

What to bring
A good pair of walking boots is essential, you won't get away with white trainers on this walk (but be prepared to walk past several people in white trainers on Mam Tor)
The weather lately has been bad, raining non stop, if this continues the paths will be muddy and slippery. Dress for the weather, layers will allow you to quickly adapt to changing weather. A good pair of water proofs are also going to be essential.
Food & drink
You will need to bring a packed lunch with you, along with enough water to keep you hydrated during the walk. A flask of hot drink may also be a good idea along with snacks.
