11 miles, a couple of steep hills

A fairly strenuous but spectacular 11 mile hike along one of the best bits of the South West Coast Path

This linear walk starts in Kingswear just over the river Dart from Dartmouth. We'll then head eastward along the coast through wooded areas, rocky outlets, WWII gun placements and high cliffs. There's some great views on offer, and we'll stop by a couple of beaches too (in case anyone is brave enough to take a February dip). The walk ends in pretty Brixham where we could have a pint or a coffee if time allows, before we get the bus back to Kingswear (approx £5).

Before I recce'd this walk I read it's one of the hardest stretches of the SWCP, but it's seriously not that bad and I've done much worse (Crackington to Tintagel has claimed many Outdoorlads!) There's two steep and knackering hills but otherwise it's mostly fairly undulating with plenty of level sections. For a SWCP stretch not far from towns like Paignton and Dartmouth it's actually feels lovely and remote...I saw about two people all day.

Dogs
Please bring your four-legged friend! But be aware there's a few stiles, big drops and wild horses, so your pooch will need to be put on a lead at times.

If you fancy making a weekend of it in the South West there's also Evening drinks happening in Exeter on the Sunday
