By Train: The walk start time allows anyone using the 10.19 from Middlesbrough (Whitby service) to meet us in Danby. The return is at 16.39.
This 7 / 8 mile MIDWEEK circular walk explores most of Danby Dale in the North York Moors National Park. It's a combination of quiet lanes, fields, open moor, beautiful woodland, stunning old church, Botton Village which is run by the Camphill Trust for adults with learning disabilities, and an amazing lake at the head of the dale surrounded by huge trees.
The circular route might be altered depending on the weather, but we should get to see everything listed above.
There is a Trust-run (inexpensive) cafe 2/3 of the way round in Botton Village and a 16th century pub at the end.
Come and experience early Spring (or late winter) in this midweek walk.
