Darnley (Nitshill)
Wednesday 10th August
The Dams to Darnley country park is the newest park in the Glasgow area, having only been set up between Glasgow City Council and East Renfrewshire council in the last 10 years. At present it is a small network of signposted paths based around the three Barrhead dams in the area, however it is set to expand in the future following funding that is coming out of the Glasgow City Deal.
Our route cuts through the centre of the park passing through pleasant woodlands before reaching the open countryside in which the three reservoirs sit, before arriving into the south side of Barrhead.
What to bring
Our route is on pavements, minor roads and gravel paths so is suitable for trainers.
Clothing is very much weather dependant, jeans may be ok if it is a nice dry day however could become uncomfortable if we see a few showers. A fleece or jumper is recommended if it gets cooler in the evening.
Food & drink
Bring a bottle of juice and some snacks with you.
