Join OutdoorLads for a challenging Easter Bank Holiday Monday Walk.
The Cown Edge Way is a linear walking route in South Eastern Greater Manchester starting in Hazel Grove rising to 410m at Cown Edge Rocks and finishing at Gee Cross.
We will walk the middle section of the route covering the section between Marple and Chisworth which includes the highlight of Cown & Coombs Edge.
However to make this a circular walk there will be a couple of kms to walk along the River Goyt before joining the route, and a scenic 6km route back over Ludworth Moors to return to the start and the option to visit a local pub for some refreshment.
Highlights of the walk include Roman Lakes, Mellor Church, Robin Hood Picking Stones and Cown Edge with excellent views across most of Greater Manchester and Cheshire to the west and Bleaklow and Kinder to the east.
