County Durham/Teesside - Gainford and Piercebridge
17 people attending
8 places left
A nice, level 12.5 mile walk alongside the River Tees, taking in the interesting villages of Winston, Gainsford and Piercebridge. We will have the opportunity to visit the remains of a Roman fort, and visit a Spa (no pampering available now sadly, but it's a pretty riverside spot). A pretty summer's walk, a few miles outside Darlington. There are few steep gradients yet plenty of beautiful views and good opportunities for some very fine tea shops! There will be cake, and there's a reasonable risk of alpacas (seeing them at least!!).
