Climbing at Three Cliffs Bay

We will spend around 6 hours climbing at Three Cliffs Bay, with the event timed to co-incide with low tide. The venue has a number of quality south-facing single-pitch and short multi-pitch routes to go at, all accessed from the beach with grades ranging from mod to HVS. Classics of the crag are the *** VSs Scavenger and Arch Slab, Joggled Wall (VDiff) and the highly unusual Under Milk Wood, involving a pitch of bona-fide caving only accessible to the thinnest of climbers!
More crag info is available at https://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crags/three_cliffs_bay-15/
After we have finished climbing, there are various teashops to visit and perhaps we will go to the beach.
We plan to climb at another venue on the Gower peninsula on the following day (https://www.outdoorlads.com/events/climbing-port-eynon-230507) and stay at the Pitton Cross Caravan & Camp site (pittoncross.co.uk) from Friday 5th May - Monday 8th May. Most likely we will also climb on the Monday before travelling home. Anyone who is attending either of these events is welcome to join us at the campsite, but it is best to book quickly (most campsites on the Gower appear to already be sold out that weekend).
Required experience Due to the tidal nature of all the climbs, multipitch nature of some of the climbs, and scramble descents this event is unfortunately only open to attendees with some prior experience of outdoor trad climbing. You will need to have been outdoor trad climbing at least three times, including some experience of removing gear. You will need experience of belaying a lead climber (indoors or outdoors). Experience of leading outdoor trad climbs is not required. Please contact the event leader if you are unsure if you have the required experience.
Weather If it is wet we may not be able to climb but will find some other way to amuse ourselves. We could have a wet trip to the beach, go for a walk or visit a teashop.

IMPORTANT! - Participation Statement

What to bring
Bring warm clothing and a waterproof in case it is windy and rains, suncream in case it is sunny. In terms of climbing gear, you will need at the very least to bring your own helmet, harness and climbing shoes. The event leader will contact attendees nearer the time to arrange who is bringing what equipment in terms of climbing ropes and trad gear.
Food & drink
Bring a packed lunch and suitable liquids for a day climbing on the beach.
