This is a linear walk along a beautiful stretch of Dorset coastline - details below for getting back to the start point on public transport if you are driving.
This half-day walk takes us from the pretty town of Christchurch to the coastal resort of Bournemouth along some stunning beaches - a perfect event if you are new to ODL but not yet ready for a full-day hike!
From Christchurch we head to cross the River Stour before following the marina path. We then reach Hengistbury Head, a headland teeming with wildlife with stunning views of the Isle of Wight one way and Purbecks the other.
We will then walk alongside the sandy beaches of Southbourne and Boscombe to reach Bournemouth, where we will end the event in Bournemouth Square. From there, there are buses to Bournemouth station or back to the start point in Christchurch (see below for details) - or you may wish to attend the Bournemouth Social which takes place immediately after this event (please book separately).
This is a leisurely walk and there should be time for an ice cream stop, with possibly time to go on Bournemouth Pier or in the arcade should you so wish.

Dogs are welcome to join us on this event but we do ask the following: Please ensure you adhere to the Countryside Code at all times - see (Keeping Dogs Under Effective Control). If your dog is uncontrolled and strays in open land frightening other animals or livestock, the leader is supported by the OutdoorLads board of trustees to ask you to leave the event as this is not acceptable behaviour.
IMPORTANT! - Participation Statement
You MUST complete a Participation Statement in addition to booking your event space before attending an OutdoorLads event. You only need to complete this Participation Statement once, not for each event you attend.
