Join OutdoorLads for a Weekend in Cardiff
Caerdydd (Welsh for Cardiff) is the capital and largest city in Wales and the eleventh largest in the UK. A small town until the early 19th century, its prominence as a port for coal when mining began in the region helped its expansion. In 1905, it was ranked as a city and in 1955 proclaimed capital of Wales.
Cardiff is a major centre for television and film production and is the Welsh base for the main national broadcasters. Cardiff Bay contains the Senedd building home to the Senedd, the Welsh Parliament) and the Wales Millennium Centre arts complex amongst others.
This is a City Break Event where OutdoorLads arranges the accommodation and hopes to provide you with a range of day activities to select from as well as social activities for the evening. Food and Drink is NOT included in the event but meals out will be arranged as part of the social events.
Both day and social activities will be published separately on the website so if you are local to Cardiff or want to arrange your own accommodation you will still be welcome to join us.
As a minimum there will be a day walk but subject to leader availability we hope to offer cycling and climbing options as well. Links to the events will be added below as they are made live:
Saturday Afternoon Indoor Climbing
Our accommodation for this weekend is the student halls of residence so all rooms are single beds with ensuite facilities and grouped together around a self catering kitchen/dining space (See the Food & Drink and What Kit to bring sections for more information)
Dogs: This event is not suitable for dogs.
IMPORTANT! - Participation Statement
You MUST complete a Participation Statement, in addition to booking your event space before attending an OutdoorLads event. You only need to complete this Participation Statement once, not for each event you attend.

What to bring
You'll need to bring the relevant kit for any day activities that you intend to partake in so please check the kit lists on those pages.
The accommodation provides bedding and a towel. I'd suggest you want to bring a plastic beaker or bottle for drinking water during the night as well as the normal toiletries for a night away.
If you intend to use the self-catering kitchen please remember that cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils are not provided.
Food & drink
Food and Drink is not included in this event. Our local socials leaders will arrange venues to eat out on both evenings, and there are shops and pubs close to the accommodation. Breakfast is likely to be an eat out affair as well but there may also be an option for a packed continental breakfast to be delivered to the room (more details to follow...)
You do have use of the self-catering kitchen in the halls of residence if you would prefer but please note there are no cooking utensils or crockery provided.
