Call The Midwife - London Walking Tour

Fans of 'Call The Midwife' this is the event for you. Join your fellow OutdoorLads and Ian, our tour guide from www.londontownwalks.com on this guided walking tour of Poplar where the story and series are based.
We start at the nuns’ and nurses’ headquarters, the real-life Nonnatus House, still there today, and the streets where Chummy and the other midwives rode.
And there’s other history too such as seeing the charming renovated old warehouses where the London Docks were started. And we get a fantastic view of the Thames, and cross inlets, and can imagine the scene in the book where Sister Evangelina clambers with her bike over boats to cross the water rather than ride round. And you hear about the filming of the series.
To top the day off we'll finish for a drink at the The Grapes pub in Limehouse, owned by our much adored LGBT+ champion , Sir Ian McKellen (sorry....can't guarantee he'll be there but if anyone knows him, feel free to let him know to expect a lovely bunch from OutdoorLads)
Fancy dress is optional, but please wear comfortable shoes for the walking part.
